- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4%)
- 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
- Toppings: everything seasoning, sesame seeds, poppy seeds
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
- Make a well in the center and add cottage cheese. Stir until a rough dough forms.
- Turn onto a floured surface and knead by hand for 1โ2 minutes until smooth.
- Divide into 4 pieces. Roll each into a 6โ7 inch log and form a ring.
- Whisk egg with a splash of water or milk if using. Brush bagels and sprinkle with toppings.
- Preheat air fryer to 300ยฐF. Lightly spray or line the basket. Cook bagels in batches for 15โ17 minutes. Check at 10 minutes.
- Let cool for 15 minutes before slicing or serving.
Notes
Store cooled bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days, or refrigerate for 5 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in toaster or air fryer for best texture. Customize with gluten-free flour or dairy-free yogurt for dietary needs.
