Description

These air fryer protein bagels are golden, tender inside, and packed with protein thanks to cottage cheese and a fuss-free method. No yeast, no oven, just pure breakfast joy.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • Pinch of salt (optional)
  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4%)
  • 1 egg (optional, for egg wash)
  • Toppings: everything seasoning, sesame seeds, poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Add a pinch of salt if desired.
  2. Make a well in the center and add cottage cheese. Stir until a rough dough forms.
  3. Turn onto a floured surface and knead by hand for 1โ€“2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide into 4 pieces. Roll each into a 6โ€“7 inch log and form a ring.
  5. Whisk egg with a splash of water or milk if using. Brush bagels and sprinkle with toppings.
  6. Preheat air fryer to 300ยฐF. Lightly spray or line the basket. Cook bagels in batches for 15โ€“17 minutes. Check at 10 minutes.
  7. Let cool for 15 minutes before slicing or serving.


Notes

Store cooled bagels in an airtight container at room temperature for 2 days, or refrigerate for 5 days. Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in toaster or air fryer for best texture. Customize with gluten-free flour or dairy-free yogurt for dietary needs.
