Description
This baked ham with brown sugar glaze is everything I love about classic holiday cooking sweet, savory, tender, and soul-satisfying. The brown sugar crust melts into every spiral slice, while citrus and honey bring brightness to balance the richness. Whether itโs Easter Sunday, a cozy winter gathering, or a festive weekend dinner, this ham is always the star of the table.
Ingredients
- 1 spiral cut ham (bone-in), 6-10 pounds
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and set a rack inside a large roasting pan.
- Rinse and dry the ham, then wrap it in foil, leaving the top slightly open.
- In a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, orange juice, honey, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer for 3โ4 minutes until thickened.
- Unwrap the top of the ham and spoon the glaze generously over each slice, letting it seep into every cut.
- Re-seal the foil tightly around the ham to keep it moist.
- Bake for about 90 minutes, basting once halfway through, until the glaze is bubbling and the ham is heated through.
- For a stickier glaze, unwrap the ham in the final 10 minutes and broil for a golden finish.
