Description

This baked ham with pineapple and brown sugar glaze is more than a holiday centerpiece itโ€™s a celebration carved into every slice. Sweet, savory, and glowing with golden glaze, this dish brings warmth to any table. The pineapple rings roast into candied perfection, while the brown sugar and honey glaze adds a rich, spiced sheen thatโ€™s irresistible.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (10-12 pound) fully cooked ham, spiral-cut and bone-in preferred
  • 20 oz canned pineapple slices, juice reserved
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar or brown sweetener (dark or light)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Maraschino cherries (optional, for garnish)
  • Toothpicks
  • Foil

Instructions

  1. Let ham sit at room temperature for 1 hour before baking
  2. Preheat oven to 325ยฐF (163ยฐC)
  3. If ham is not spiral-cut, score in a crisscross pattern
  4. In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine brown sugar, honey, reserved pineapple juice, cinnamon, and cloves; stir until sugar dissolves (3โ€“4 minutes)
  5. Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then slowly stir into glaze to thicken to a syrupy consistency
  6. Place ham on a foil-lined roasting pan
  7. Brush glaze generously over ham, tucking into the slices
  8. Attach pineapple rings and cherries using toothpicks
  9. Loosely tent ham with foil
  10. Bake for 1ยฝ hours (or 10โ€“15 minutes per pound)
  11. Remove foil, spoon glaze over top, and bake uncovered for another 30 minutes until golden and bubbly
  12. Let rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 140ยฐF. Letting the ham rest keeps it juicy. Make the glaze ahead or attach fruit the night before to save time. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days or freeze for 2 months. Reheat in oven at 300ยฐF, in microwave with a damp towel, or skillet-fry for crispy edges.
