- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 pounds jumbo shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded (or grated Parmesan)
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes.
- Add shrimp and cook 2โ3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
- Season with salt and pepper. Remove shrimp and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add butter and garlic. Sautรฉ for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in white wine and scrape up any bits from the pan. Let simmer for 1 minute.
- Stir in cream, Italian seasoning, and cheese. Simmer gently, stirring constantly, for 4โ6 minutes until thickened.
- Return shrimp to skillet and toss gently to coat.
- Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
Use wild-caught shrimp for best flavor. Don't overcook the shrimp, and always use freshly grated cheese for the smoothest sauce. Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
