Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 pounds jumbo shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chicken broth
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded (or grated Parmesan)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes.
  2. Add shrimp and cook 2โ€“3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
  3. Season with salt and pepper. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add butter and garlic. Sautรฉ for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Pour in white wine and scrape up any bits from the pan. Let simmer for 1 minute.
  6. Stir in cream, Italian seasoning, and cheese. Simmer gently, stirring constantly, for 4โ€“6 minutes until thickened.
  7. Return shrimp to skillet and toss gently to coat.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.


Notes

Use wild-caught shrimp for best flavor. Don't overcook the shrimp, and always use freshly grated cheese for the smoothest sauce. Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread.
