- 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup fruit preserves (raspberry or apricot)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and lemon juice until silky smooth.
- Unroll the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut each sheet into 4 even squares.
- Spoon a tablespoon of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each square.
- Top with a teaspoon of fruit preserves right on the cream cheese.
- Gently fold the corners of the pastry inward, pinching slightly in the middle to hold their shape.
- Brush with beaten egg to get that golden, bakery-style finish.
- Bake for 20โ25 minutes, until puffed and gorgeously golden.
- Cool slightly before serving. Theyโre dreamy warm, but lovely at room temp too.
Notes
Store any leftover pastries in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 4 days. Reheat in oven at 350ยฐF for 5โ7 minutes or air fryer at 330ยฐF for 3โ4 minutes. Microwave 15โ20 seconds if needed (note: pastry may lose crispness). Customize with different preserves, almond extract, or seasonal flavors like apple butter or cranberry.
