Scale
- 1 package Hawaiian rolls (or gluten-free / keto / brioche slider buns)
- 8 ounces cream cheese (softened to room temperature)
- 1 1/2 cups whole cranberry sauce (not jellied โ fresh or canned)
- 2 cups leftover turkey (cut into biteโsize pieces or shredded (or use deli turkey slices))
- 6 slices havarti cheese
- 1/2 cup salted butter (1 stick, melted (if using unsalted, add 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt))
- 1/2 -1 teaspoon garlic (pressed or minced; about 1 small clove)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Pinch kosher salt
- 1/2 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat & prepare dish
- Preheat your oven to 350โฏยฐF (175โฏยฐC). Lightly grease a 9ร13โinch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
- Slice the buns
- Keep the slider rolls intact together. Slice the whole package lengthwise into top and bottom halves. The bottom half should be slightly thicker so it holds fillings better.
- Spread cream cheese
- On the bottom half of the buns (still connected), spread the softened cream cheese evenly across the surface.
- Add cranberry sauce
- Spoon the whole cranberry sauce gently over the cream cheese. Use the back of a spoon to distribute without tearing the bread.
- Layer turkey and cheese
- Evenly distribute the turkey pieces over the cranberry layer. Then lay the slices of havarti cheese evenly on top. Finally, place the top half of the buns back on, covering all sandwiches.
- Prepare the butter topping
- In a pourable container (measuring cup or bowl), whisk together melted butter, garlic, dried onion, Worcestershire sauce, and a pinch of kosher salt.
- Pour and sprinkle
- Pour the butter-garlic mixture gently over the top of the buns, letting it soak in. If desired, sprinkle poppy seeds across the top.
- Cover & bake
- Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 20โ30 minutes, until the cheese has melted and the filling is heated through.
- (Optional) Crisp the top
- If you like a crisper top, remove the foil for the last 10 minutes of baking. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Serve warm
- Allow to rest for 5 minutes before slicing into individual sliders. Serve warm.
