Description

This homemade fajita seasoning mix brings vibrant Tex-Mex flavor straight into your kitchen. Made with pantry staples, itโ€™s customizable, clean, and way better than store-bought.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1.5 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cumin (use 1 tsp for chicken or shrimp)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon red pepper flakes (adjust to desired heat level)
  • 1 Tablespoon sweet paprika
  • 1.5 Tablespoons dried cilantro or dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano (Mexican oregano if available)

Instructions

  1. Measure all the spices into a bowl or small jar.
  2. Mix with a fork until evenly combined. If using a jar, shake well with the lid on.
  3. Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark spot. Best used within a few weeks for full flavor.

Notes

Store the seasoning mix in an airtight jar in a cool, dry place. Best used within 2-4 weeks. For a salt-free version, omit the sea salt and season separately. Add lime zest for a citrusy twist or a bit of cocoa powder for depth. Great on chicken, steak, shrimp, veggies, or chickpeas!
