- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 packets hot cocoa mix (or 3/4 cup hot cocoa mix, not sugar-free)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup Mallow Bits
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla, and beat until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, hot cocoa mix, salt, baking soda, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chocolate chips and Mallow Bits.
- Cover and chill the dough for at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF and line baking sheets with parchment or silicone mats.
- Scoop 2-tablespoon portions of dough onto the baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9โ11 minutes, until edges are set but centers look soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for longer storage. Reheat in the microwave for 8โ10 seconds to bring back that warm cocoa texture.
