- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 for flavor)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 2 green onions, chopped (plus more for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups cooked rice (jasmine, basmati, or brown)
- Sesame seeds
- Sliced cucumber
- Kimchi
- Pickled vegetables
- Fried egg
- Bell peppers
- Carrots
- Broccoli
- Spinach
Instructions
- Prepare the Rice: Cook rice using stovetop, rice cooker, or Instant Pot method.
- Brown the Beef: Heat skillet over medium-high. Cook beef for 5โ7 minutes until browned, breaking it apart.
- Add Flavors: Drain excess fat. Add garlic and ginger; cook 1โ2 minutes until fragrant.
- Season It Up: Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, green onions, salt, and pepper. Simmer briefly.
- Assemble the Bowl: Spoon rice into bowls, top with beef mixture, then add optional toppings and veggies.
Notes
Use tamari for gluten-free, cauliflower rice for low-carb, and tofu for vegan. Store beef and rice separately for up to 4 days or freeze the beef for 2 months. Reheat in skillet or microwave with splash of water.
